About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga
We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Clinical Psychologist to join our team at either our Highbrook and/or Pukekohe practice. The role will focus on providing therapy for clients facing various mental health challenges, delivering evidence-based therapies such as CBT, EMDR, and DBT, and working with ACC-sensitive claims.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently and possesses excellent communication and liaison skills, as they will be working closely with other professionals within our practice and external stakeholders. Additionally, we require kaimahi to be adept at using digital products as we utilise systems like Microsoft Teams, Office, and practice management software.

Key Responsibilities:
Therapy: Provide evidence-based therapies, including CBT, EMDR, and DBT, to adults and adolescents with a range of mental health challenges. Experience in working with families and children is preferred, but not required.
Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments for various mental health conditions, and if suited within the scope – for Autism, ADHD, and learning challenges, to support tailored therapeutic interventions.
ACC Sensitive Claims: Work with clients under the new ACC-sensitive claims contract under TPG, providing therapeutic support and treatment plans.
Clinical Interviews: Conduct thorough clinical interviews with clients, families, and other relevant stakeholders to gather comprehensive background information.
Reports: If needed, detailed and well-articulated reports, outlining findings, recommendations, and intervention strategies. Communicate results in a clear and accessible manner to clients, families, and other professionals involved.
Continuing Education: Stay abreast of the latest research, developments, and best practices in therapy and assessment tools and methodologies. Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Ethical Practice: Adhere to ethical guidelines set by your licensing board and professional organisations, ensuring client confidentiality is maintained and treatments are conducted safely and appropriately.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to provide comprehensive care to clients.
Participate in Peer Consultation and Supervision: Attend regular supervision and training sessions, including peer consultation and supervision groups, to discuss challenging cases, receive feedback and support, and learn from each other's experiences.

Registration with the New Zealand Psychologist Board with a Clinical Psychologist scope of practice and a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
Professional Membership with the NZCCP or NZPsS.
Excellent communication and liaison skills.

Proficiency with digital systems such as Microsoft Teams, Word, and practice management software.
Ability to work face-to-face and provide online therapy.
