Anna Elders
NURSE PRACTITIONER
Anna is a highly experienced mental health specialist working with children, adolescents, adults and whānau and is renowned for her authentic, collaborative approach to her work. Anna lives in Tauranga and provides in-person and online psychiatric assessments and medical reviews for clients at The Psychology Group. As a dually qualified nurse practitioner and cognitive behavioural therapist, she has undertaken additional training in integrative medicine with a special focus on mental health and women's health.
Anna works collaboratively with clients to undertake a holistic assessment identifying key contributors to mental health distress. This may include presenting psychological challenges, life stressors and impacts of trauma, physical health symptoms and medical conditions, lifestyle factors and any presenting diagnosed or undiagnosed mental health conditions. Anna then works to create a tailored treatment plan that assists people to restore balance and become more empowered in their wellbeing into the future. Treatments may include necessary nutritional supplements, medications (which Anna can prescribe) essential psychological treatments and lifestyle changes.
Anna has her own lived experience as a person with ADHD and PMDD, giving her considerable personal insight alongside her professional experience into the challenges and gifts of mental distress and neurodiversity. Anna is a leader in the digital mental health space (her other role), an avid gardener, poor to average surfer and proud mother of two teenagers.
